I just watched something on tv about D-Day landing. I found it very interesting and very educational. I kind of enjoyed listening to the men that were there, watching old tv footage, and learning about what was involved in the planning of that day. The more I hear, the more I see, the more I am amazed that it ever worked, and I am grateful that it did despite every obstikal that they encountered.
I think every one should be watching this and realize just what was involved so that we today can life the live as free and la di da like that we are living now. We owe these men a lot.
If they hadn't done what they did, then we could be living under a nazy regieme right now. Not a very comforting thought.
I was just thinking, though, you can't blame the young German soldiers for what they did, as they didn't have a choise either, they were conscripted. They just did what they had to to survive. Some of them even knew they were fighting on the wrong side, but they had no choise. They just wanted to stay alive and grow up to become adults instead of dying as boys, just the same as the Allies were.
I don't know I thought that everyone should still learn about the heavy cost of our freedom. The freedom that we are taking so much for granted.
